Growing up in Los Angeles, Elizabeth was exposed to diverse populations and cultures, but most impactful was her exposure to the homeless living on the streets of Skid Row. While she was pursuing her Master’s in Counseling at Dallas Theological Seminary, she started working at an area safe house for survivors of human trafficking. It was there that she witnessed firsthand the challenges survivors faced in accessing mental health services.

Elizabeth spent four years serving as the Director of Clinical Services for a residential program for survivors. During her time there, she developed a phase model of treatment addressing the complex mental health needs of survivors. Elizabeth is passionate about increasing funding and improved outcomes; she has been gathering data using validated assessments to help us better understand the acuity experienced by survivors.

Elizabeth has also received advanced training in working with dissociation, sexual trauma, and addiction. She integrates this training into a phase approach that addresses the trauma survivors have experienced, and a holistic approach that helps survivors increase capacity and functionality to create a life outside of trauma and exploitation.

In 2024, Elizabeth launched her own private practice where she continues to provide care to survivors. Collaborating with outpatient-based advocacy and residential programs, she provides counseling services and assessments for survivors. In addition, she provides training for residential programs, health agencies, and law enforcement to improve outcomes for survivors.
