Ryann Jorban is a veteran prosecutor with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office and a nationally recognized expert in labor exploitation, human trafficking, and fraud targeting vulnerable communities. Since joining the office in 1998, she has prosecuted crimes affecting children, the elderly, people with disabilities, and victims of domestic violence, and now leads the Economic and Labor Justice Unit, focusing on wage theft, labor trafficking, systemic exploitation of vulnerable workers, and fraud against vulnerable communities. She played the key role in creating the Labor Justice Unit, one of the first prosecutorial units dedicated to addressing labor exploitation through multidisciplinary collaboration.

Beyond her prosecutorial work, Ryann consults with government agencies, law enforcement, nonprofit organizations, private industry, and technology companies developing tools for law enforcement, victim services, and cross-sector coordination. She provides guidance on victim-centered and trauma-informed approaches, anti-bias frameworks, case strategy, and collaborative enforcement models.

A highly sought-after speaker and trainer, Ryann delivers practical programs nationwide on labor trafficking, wage theft, fraud, and collaborative strategies for complex investigations. She leads multiple statewide and national task forces and working groups, bridging gaps between sectors to drive coordinated responses to exploitation and fraud.

Ryann earned her undergraduate degree in Sociology from the University of California, Riverside, and her law degree from the University of Michigan Law School.
