    In 2005, Dottie Laster triggered the largest rescue of human trafficking victims in the United States with the rescue of a minor sex trafficking victim of Gerardo Salazar, “El Gallo”.

    She has served victims of human trafficking in the United States for the past 23 years. Dottie has led human trafficking task forces in Houston, Texas and Los Angeles, San Diego and Orange Counties, California. She trained over 6,000 law enforcement officials on the issue of human trafficking. Dottie has been the subject of many investigative reports and documentaries for ABC, CBS, MSNBC, CNN, Vanity Fair Confidential, Discovery Investigates and Texas Monthly Magazine. She practiced immigration law for 6 years as an accredited representative and Program Director of the Bernardo Kohler Center’s Human Trafficking Program. Dottie was named a Hometown hero by Whataburger Corporation and New Braunfels Magazine.  

    She is a co-author of My Little Black Book of Red Flags by Janette Allen, and the creator of the e-publication 55 Things Parents and Grandparents Should Know.
